- MATCO is an European market leader in chemicals for the flooring and artificial grass market. Leader in specialty latex compounds and complimentary additives.
- Centrally located in the heart of Europe and its chemical industry and this within a close proximity to 80% of the European flooring and artificial grass market and ideally located to serve the fast growing EMEA markets.
- Four well-invested, highly automated and strategically located manufacturing plants (one in Belgium, 2 in the Netherlands and one in Egypt). Actual production of +80k tons p.a. and having a total production capacity of 200k+ tons.
- Increased focus on specialty milling capabilities such as curing pastes, antioxidants, coagulants, alternative polymer compounds with applications in a wide range of industries such as bedding, footwear, technical textiles, medical gloves etc.

The group has 18 people with a university degree in chemistry on board…with a combined experience of over 400 years in the chemical industry and over 300 years in the carpet/grass backing business.

HISTORY
- 1983 – Establishment of MATCO pvba – specialised in trade and recycling of damaged chemical substances and rubber.
- 1990 – MATCO obtains an operating licence (hazardous waste products) for the Brussels and Walloon regions..
- 1991 – The company becomes a plc: Matco nv.
- 2005 – MATCO moves to a larger location (11,000m²) in Waregem (B).
- 2005 – Mid 2005 MATCO is acquired by BV Capital Partners.
- 2006 – MATCO takes a 100% participation in Adhesys nv and starts with the production of adhesives in Waregem.
- 2013 – MATCO becomes an agent for Aquapharm in the Benelux and northern France.
- 2014 – MATCO starts the production of backings for the industrial grass industry.
- 2018 – On December 19th, a fire destroys the entire company.
- 2020 – MATCO Belgium makes a fresh start with the opening of its new site with state of the art production and storage facilities.
- 2024 – MATCO acquires the latex compounding operations of Synthomer plc
